La Isla Bonita Vogue June 2011

I was very excited to see the editorial shot by by Peter Lindbergh when I received my Vogue magazine this month. They were all taken in Puerto Rico and the model Joan Smalls, is also Puerto Rican. As a Puerto Rican, I was shocked that Joan Smalls hasn't received more recognition in the Puerto Rican press because she is modeling for everyone at this moment. She is one of Vogue's favorite models right now and can also be seen in the Gucci Fall catalogue and campaign, Spring Ad campaign, Stella McCartney Spring Ad campaign and modeling in the New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

Here is some pictures of the campaigns

Super bass

I've had Nicki Minaj's Super bass song stuck in my head for most of the day. I actually try to rap it but it goes way too fast and I sound ridiculous. I wore this to school today with flat shoes but I put the pumps on for the picture. I bought this blazer about two months ago at a thrift store it had these enormous shoulder pads which my mom took out. I believe I paid 4 or 5 dollars for it. It's always fun to experiment with different colors that you normally wouldn't match. That is what this spring 2011 season is all about. I wanted to do a little more color blocking with my shoes but boring me doesn't own any fun colored shoes so I guess that means a trip to the mall.

My pants and shirt are from my mom's closet. Her and I dress completely different but there is always a couple of articles of clothing that we both like and share. If you haven't done it already go through your family member's closet! It doesn't matter the size there will always be at least one item you could borrow.  You could use your dad's leather belt or you make your sister's shirt into a dress.

Changes changes!

I haven't updated my blog in a while! I've had a lot of changes going on but hopefully now I can get on track. I am moving to Miami with my mom and transferring to the Art Institute in Miami. Right now I'm 30 minutes from Miami and it just doesn't make any sense to me. The majority of my friends are in Miami and I feel like there is more opportunities in Miami. I checked out some apartments this weekend and we reserved one on Sunday. 39 days to move and so much to do but I'm excited for the future!

Ok now to talk about my outfit. This skirt is so comfortable I can't stop wearing it!
Hat:  It was a gift from my brother's girlfriend. I think it's from Pac Sun.
Shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Novus by Luis Antonio (Puerto Rican designer)

all at once

I felt the need to add the second picture just because it reflects my personality pretty well. Those that know me extremely well know that I can be super silly. Anyways I wore this to school today. I usually don't wear heels to school actually this was the first time I wore heels and it wasn't too bad am going to start doing it more often. I found this jacket at a thrift store it's a little big on me but I still bought it because I loved it so much.

MET Gala Favorites

Model Liu Wen wore Alexander McQueen I have to say this was one of my favorite dresses of the night. I love the hair pulled back and the accessories. The front part is amazing.
I love Taylor Swift and usually I don't like the dresses that she wears they are to "princessy" for my taste but this J Mendel dress is absolutely beautiful. She looks like a woman in this dress.

Diane Kruger wearing Jason Wu. I am not a fan of slits. I honestly think slits look trashy but this Jason Wu dress would have to be the only exception.
Hailee Steinfeld wearing Stella McCartney. I thought this dress was very age appropriate. Hailee Steinfeld continues to impress me with her amazing sense of style.

Solange Knowles in Dries Van Noten. I love the prints of this dress it's very boho and fits Solange's style perfectly. I personally think she looked better than her sister. Beyonce looked like she couldn't breath in her dress.

Emma Roberts wore this simple Michael Kors dress which I loved. When it comes to evening gowns I usually lean toward the simpler ones a gown doesn't have to be extremely complex in order for it to be beautiful.
Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera. The back of this dress is insane and Renee has an amazing back which makes it even more lovely. I wasn't too crazy about the front of the dress though.

the dynamo of volition

I have been super busy that's why I haven't been posting much. I'm in the middle of midterms but hopefully I will get back on track very soon. I saw Jason Mraz live on Thursday and if I wasn't obsessed with him before I am now. I also saw MGMT on Saturday and it was really fun. My phone's camera has horrible quality so I won't be posting any pictures. I'm really excited to see the coverage for the MET gala tonight. I will be posting my favorite dresses very soon.

I wore this to school today and I love the color blocking in the dress
