To smile or not to smile?

For some time my friends and I have had this debate on whether you should smile for pictures or just be serious. Mind you, yes I know it's a silly topic and there is a lot more complex issues in this world to discuss. Some say that you should always be serious in pictures. Personally, I don't enjoy being serious in every single picture and I usually feel like an awkward alien when I attempt to be serious in my pictures. There is a smile on my face or some type of ridiculous facial expression 99% of the time. When I'm browsing through different sites I usually enjoy the ones where the person is smiling as it demonstrates an individual's personality. So to the hell with it, this week I attempted to be serious but that didn't work out very well..

No woman, no cry

Zara Jacket
H&M Pants
Forever 21 shoes
Vintage Briefcase
Took these the other day in front of GAB studios in Wynwood. I love pairing up prints together I don't necessarily like matching every single color to something. Break the "fashion rules" because there should be none.

Most of the world was watching the Grammys with the exception of myself who accidentally disconnected my tv weeks ago and has still yet attempted to fix it. All my social network sites kindly informed me a play by play of everything that was going on. My choice for best dressed goes to Rihanna in Azzedine Alaïa. No comment on her showing up with Chris Brown. Favorite performance was the Bob Marley tribute with Bruno Mars, Sting, Rihanna, and Damian Marley. Thanks to my brother and sister I remember listening to him on my way to school when I was 8 years old so I should thank them for introducing their love for reggae to me.

Give peplum a chance

You know how they say give peace a chance? Well here I am saying give peplum a chance. This dress was inspired by Kimbryo ( Kim Kardashian's and Kanye West's unborn fetus). Kidding, but I can't help but think of Kim Kardashian whenever I see a curve fitting dress, black leather or peplum. She really loves to show off her assets if you know what I mean but hey if you got it flaunt it I guess more power to you.

Usually, I stayed away from peplum because I felt like it made me even wider but it depends on where it falls. I really enjoy dressing like a grandma so change is good try it sometime. Maybe?

Living in the moment

It's been a while my fellow readers but I've decided to get back into blogging. I feel like one of those kids who got into trouble at school for forgetting to do their homework but what can I say life happens. Shit happens and things never really go as planned. Despite of that one could waste a whole lot of precious time over analyzing the past. It's time to live in the moment, (quoting one of Jason Mraz's song btw) focus on my future and keep being that person that pushes doors that say pull.

To be honest, starting a blog about fashion always intimidated me because I worried about what those who know me personally would think. Would I be considered vain, shallow, or an egocentric person? Just because I admire clothes and enjoy expressing myself through them? Does it make me less of an intelligent individual? All assumptions which people love to make but that I no longer care about. You will always be judged regardless of your actions so why not start doing what makes you happy and stop worrying.  Be you.

Anyways, enough of my motivational talks because I really could go on and on. These pictures were taken in Wynwood. Absolutely loved these flamingo print shorts the minute I saw them. Love the fact that it's February and I'm wearing this. Oh Miami, how I love thee.
