Like a love song baby

I've had this Selena Gomez song stuck in my head all day long today. It's been a very long day I've been awake since 6am and have not stopped all day long. Classes were really fun today and the energy in this school is unreal. I could go on and on about each class but let's not bore you with every single detail of my day.

I came up with this outfit this morning while I was half a zombie. I like to call myself a zombie in the morning because honestly I'm not a morning person. I bought this skirt two years ago and today was the first time I wore it. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner! This mustard V neck was only $4.50 and you will be seeing it a lot! It's very fall.

As promised I mentioned yesterday that I was going to start featuring other people in my blog. So everyone meet Alejandro. He is studying Fashion Merchandising with me and is also my neighbor. You will be seeing a lot of him now! We have become very good friends and I love his style. He is a risk taker when it comes to dressing up and I love and admire that about him. As long as you feel happy and confident with what you are wearing you shouldn't mind what others say. Check out his Chictopia for more outfits!

1st day of School

It's been a while since I did an outfit post! Since I moved to Miami I transfered to Miami International University of Art & Design! Today was my first day there and I'm already in love with this school. I love the energy there and am ready to do great in all my classes. Today felt like the beginning of a long journey which I will call my career and dream. It's not going to be easy and there will be some bumps in the road but am ready for the challenge. Not only do I want to share my experience with others bloggings let's me document it and honestly I can't rememeber what I had for lunch two days ago but I could tell you what I wore.

Let me stop babbling since I could go on forever and tell you what I wore. I bought these leather shorts the other day and they are oficially my new favorite shorts. They are so comfortable and go with absolutely everything!

Back to business

I took a long hiatus from the blogging world. As a human being we all have our ups and down and we can sometimes lose focus of what we want. The good thing is that I am back with a lot of great ideas that will be implemented soon. I’m going to start featuring a lot of people so stay tuned for that!

In other news, Paris Fashion Week has been going on all this week and I’m swooning over the clothes as I obsessively watch each show. Here are some of my favorites for now.

I just want to live while I'm alive

I started my online courses this week and the apartment is almost completely done! I wore this while running some errands with my sister the other day. This romper has a really nice back cause it's kind of open but I didn't take a picture. It's comfy and am all about comfort. It actually depends on my mood.

Jacket: Thrifted
Romper: Forever 21
Shoes: La Defensa these are the best 3 dollars plastic sandals ever!

I've got a very exciting day for me tomorrow. I'm volunteering backstage at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Swim Wear. A model will be assigned to me and am in charge of making sure all her outfits are in order and making sure she is wearing everything correctly. It's something I've never done before and am ready for the hectic challenge of it. Hopefully I can sneak in a couple of pictures!

I'm back!

I took a break from blogging for a while. Moving pretty much took big chunk of my time, and it was too hectic for me to ask someone to take pictures. But I'm back and more excited than ever to start writing again! The new apartment is coming out great! I might even blog about it once it's all done because we have gotten some amazing deals and it just goes out to show you that one doesn't need a lot of money in order to make something classy. I always say that when it comes to buying clothing too.

I got highlights on my hair and got a haircut so, hello light brown hair! My sister is in town for a while and it's been really fun having her here. We are going thrift shopping sometime this week.

This is a pretty basic outfit

Headless

There are always some days when you don't particularly like the way the pictures come out. That's how I felt when taking these pictures. so I cut my face off. Perfect way to fix it aha! The other day I bought a pair of jeans at Zara and when I was trying them on in Forever 21 so I could see how they looked like with a shirt they ripped. I can get them fixed, but I was pretty disappointed considering I had just bought them. Then Chris Brown passed by me with 5 bodyguards and I completely forgot about my pant dilemma. I wanted to ask for a picture but his bodyguards are so intimidating they scared me away. If I see John Mayer, then that's another story.

Top: Arden B
Shorts: BCBG
Shoes: My sister was shopping at Torrid a couple months ago and I saw these shoes. I had to get them!
Belt: Thrifted

I bought a couple of pieces this weekend that I'm very excited to share with you all. Have you ever seen a well known celebrity? If so how did you react?

La Isla Bonita Vogue June 2011

I was very excited to see the editorial shot by by Peter Lindbergh when I received my Vogue magazine this month. They were all taken in Puerto Rico and the model Joan Smalls, is also Puerto Rican. As a Puerto Rican, I was shocked that Joan Smalls hasn't received more recognition in the Puerto Rican press because she is modeling for everyone at this moment. She is one of Vogue's favorite models right now and can also be seen in the Gucci Fall catalogue and campaign, Spring Ad campaign, Stella McCartney Spring Ad campaign and modeling in the New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

Here is some pictures of the campaigns

Super bass

I've had Nicki Minaj's Super bass song stuck in my head for most of the day. I actually try to rap it but it goes way too fast and I sound ridiculous. I wore this to school today with flat shoes but I put the pumps on for the picture. I bought this blazer about two months ago at a thrift store it had these enormous shoulder pads which my mom took out. I believe I paid 4 or 5 dollars for it. It's always fun to experiment with different colors that you normally wouldn't match. That is what this spring 2011 season is all about. I wanted to do a little more color blocking with my shoes but boring me doesn't own any fun colored shoes so I guess that means a trip to the mall.

My pants and shirt are from my mom's closet. Her and I dress completely different but there is always a couple of articles of clothing that we both like and share. If you haven't done it already go through your family member's closet! It doesn't matter the size there will always be at least one item you could borrow.  You could use your dad's leather belt or you make your sister's shirt into a dress.

Changes changes!

I haven't updated my blog in a while! I've had a lot of changes going on but hopefully now I can get on track. I am moving to Miami with my mom and transferring to the Art Institute in Miami. Right now I'm 30 minutes from Miami and it just doesn't make any sense to me. The majority of my friends are in Miami and I feel like there is more opportunities in Miami. I checked out some apartments this weekend and we reserved one on Sunday. 39 days to move and so much to do but I'm excited for the future!

Ok now to talk about my outfit. This skirt is so comfortable I can't stop wearing it!
Hat:  It was a gift from my brother's girlfriend. I think it's from Pac Sun.

Skirt: Forever 21

all at once

I felt the need to add the second picture just because it reflects my personality pretty well. Those that know me extremely well know that I can be super silly. Anyways I wore this to school today. I usually don't wear heels to school actually this was the first time I wore heels and it wasn't too bad am going to start doing it more often. I found this jacket at a thrift store it's a little big on me but I still bought it because I loved it so much.

MET Gala Favorites

Model Liu Wen wore Alexander McQueen I have to say this was one of my favorite dresses of the night. I love the hair pulled back and the accessories. The front part is amazing.
I love Taylor Swift and usually I don't like the dresses that she wears they are to "princessy" for my taste but this J Mendel dress is absolutely beautiful. She looks like a woman in this dress.

Diane Kruger wearing Jason Wu. I am not a fan of slits. I honestly think slits look trashy but this Jason Wu dress would have to be the only exception.
Hailee Steinfeld wearing Stella McCartney. I thought this dress was very age appropriate. Hailee Steinfeld continues to impress me with her amazing sense of style.

Solange Knowles in Dries Van Noten. I love the prints of this dress it's very boho and fits Solange's style perfectly. I personally think she looked better than her sister. Beyonce looked like she couldn't breath in her dress.

Emma Roberts wore this simple Michael Kors dress which I loved. When it comes to evening gowns I usually lean toward the simpler ones a gown doesn't have to be extremely complex in order for it to be beautiful.
Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera. The back of this dress is insane and Renee has an amazing back which makes it even more lovely. I wasn't too crazy about the front of the dress though.

the dynamo of volition

I have been super busy that's why I haven't been posting much. I'm in the middle of midterms but hopefully I will get back on track very soon. I saw Jason Mraz live on Thursday and if I wasn't obsessed with him before I am now. I also saw MGMT on Saturday and it was really fun. My phone's camera has horrible quality so I won't be posting any pictures. I'm really excited to see the coverage for the MET gala tonight. I will be posting my favorite dresses very soon.

I wore this to school today and I love the color blocking in the dress
